Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping

Map Once, Use Many Times

How To Contribute

NOAA, in collaboration with its government, academic, and private sector partners, seeks to fill these bathymetric data gaps by 2030. There are two primary ways in which YOU can contribute:

Mapping Plans:
To contribute and further the IOCM goal to “map once, use many times,” NOAA recommends reviewing the web map service through the U.S Mapping Coordination Website and identify gaps that need to be filled as well as participate in collaboration activities by posting your future mapping plans. For more information about this project, please contact Ashley Chappell, NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping Coordinator, at ashley.chappell@noaa.gov.

Sharing Data with Public Archives:
NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) also serves as the International Hydrographic Organization’s worldwide bathymetric data repository and is the international archive supporting Seabed 2030. If you have data that is currently not available to the public, you are strongly encouraged to share your data with NCEI. Please email mb.info@noaa.gov for more information.
